The Ibiza Cupra Concept is actually a fully built-up version of the car that will soon replace the current version of the car that has been with us for a while now. It has already been shown at the Beijing Auto Show last year and opinions are likely to be split.
The 2012 model year facelift of the regular Ibiza is the reason behind this change. We really don’t like the fact that they taken the brilliant black gaping mouth away and replaced it with a big lower grille. The only things we do like about the exterior is the Crono Yellow paintjob and the LED lights fitted to the lower part of the bi-xenon headlights.
The interior is also a bit disappointing considering it’s got that navigation system that looks like an afterthought.
What’s more, nothing is likely to change under the bonnet, where the 1.4-liter engine will still provide its 180 horsepower. But with the arrival of the Fiesta ST just around the corner and the track performance of the Clio RS, is this really enough for the Spanish sporting car brand.
