2012 Ram Pickup Line-up Presented

We do believe in Santa Clause, but we have a different acceptation when it comes to him, as we think that he exists in the automotive world, he doesn't only come in December and is called "model year". So. let's see what the Model Year 2012 has brought for the Ram pickup line-up.

First and foremost, we get more muscle, so you might be able to finish working days earlier. How much spare time will you gain? Well, the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 unit now delivers 383 hp and 400 lb-ft, while the 6.7-liter Cummins diesel now churns out 350 hp and a peak torque of 800 lb-ft. Ram assures us that none of that power will go to waste as the car has been fitted with a new six-speed automatic transmission, which uses a fresh torque converter.

You can choose between Regular Cab, Quad Cab and Crew Cab models, with three box lengths: 8-foot (Regular Cab), 6-foot-4-inches (Regular Cab and Quad Cab), and 5-foot-7-inches (Ram 1500 Crew Cab).

And just when you thought you're done configuring the truck, you have to choose one of the eleven trim levels offered (yes, each one of them really comes with distinct visual features):Tradesman, Express, Outdoorsman, ST, SLT, Sport, Sport R/T, Lone Star, Big Horn, Laramie and Laramie Longhorn.

"The Ram 1500 lineup has a truck for everyone," said Fred Diaz, President and CEO, Ram Truck Brand and Chrysler de Mexico - Chrysler Group LLC. "From the value-priced Tradesman with a standard V-8 to the loaded Laramie Longhorn, Ram Truck brand will continue to answer our customers' needs with products that hit high marks for durability, innovation and appearance."
