2012 Opel Astra OPC Commercial

Have you seen a male gorilla or lion’s reaction to his reflection? They get really pumped up and start to flex, roar and promote their masculine alpha side. Well the first promo video for the 2012 Opel Astra OPC is a bit like that, only with precision driving involved.
While we’re still waiting to see if the new OPC version is as hot on the track as it is on paper, the car does promise a whole lot more than its predecessor and the competition. Not only has GM’s European arm developed a hot engine for the car, but they’ve also played with the suspension.

The 2012 Astra OPC is motivated by a 2.0-litre direct injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine to produce 280 HP and 400 Nm of peak torque.

Compared to the Astra GTC this is based on, the hot hatch with coupe ambitions adds a new set of bumpers, side skirts, a small roof spoiler, double trapezoidal shaped exhaust pipes and massive alloys sized 20-inch.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
