With its market launch scheduled for July 2011, both for the saloon and estate models, the new 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG has finally received a price tag, while we have also been treated with officially released details and additional images of the car.

Getting straight to the point, pricing for the C63 AMG starts at EUR71,340 (USD98,130) for the saloon and EUR73,899 (USD101,650) for the estate, while the AMG Performance Package has been priced at EUR7,166 (USD9,855).

But before you scroll down to see the newly released photos, let us tell you a bit more about the vehicle’ specs. First off, we witness the introduction of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with the ”Controlled Efficiency,” thanks to which combined fuel consumption figures have dropped by around 10 percent.

This means the saloon will only eat up 12.0 l/100km (19.60 US mpg), while the Estate needs 12.3 l/100km (19.12 US mpg). In addition to that, CO2 emissions have also been lowered at 280 g/km for the saloon and 288 g/km for the estate.

In terms of performance, the 2012 Mercedes C63 AMG is fitted with a 6.3-litre V8 engine developing 457 hp and 600 Nm (443 lb.ft.) of torque (or 487 hp with the AMG Performance Package). The saloon is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, as the estate achieves the same performance in 4.5 seconds.

Models equipped with the performance package can be identified by the variable intake manifold painted in titanium grey under the bonnet, the AMG high-performance braking system with composite front discs and red painted brake calipers all round, the carbon-fibre spoiler lip on the boot lid (Saloon) and the AMG performance steering wheel in nappa leather with an Alcantara grip area.
