Even if there are still quite a few weeks left until the start of the 2010 Paris Auto Show, news about the new models to be presented there have already begun hitting the web. Among those models is the new interpretation of Mercedes' CLS, previewed already in the leaked photos of last week.

As was to be expected, the new CLS retains the overall dimensions and major design lines as its predecessors, boasting the same long bonnet, frameless side windows and sweeping back roof. What has changed compared to the previous generation is the addition of LEDs (in all, 71 LEDs are fitted onto the new CLS) and a few styling touches added here and there.

At the interior, the new CLS comes with five interior colors, five trim designs and three qualities of leather. A mixture of satin and high-gloss finishes used on the metal surfaces further emphasize the leather chosen, regardless of its quality.

Unfortunately for us waiting info on the engines chosen for the model, Mercedes is still keeping quiet about this aspect. We know however that the new CLS will likely be propelled, when it comes to gasoline choices, by a new direct-injection 3.5l V6 engine (CLS350 CGI 301 bhp) as well as a 4.6l twin-turbo V8 (CLS550 CGI 429 bhp).

The diesel offering will include a 3.0l V6 (CLS350 CDI 252 PS) and a four-cylinder unit (204 PS). An AMG version using a new twin-turbocharged 5.5l V8 (544 bhp) will also hit the streets in the months to come.

The new CLS will be revealed to the public at the Paris Auto Show, an event autoevolution will not miss. We will also not miss the new CLS, so stay tuned for up close and personal photos of the car.
