When Lotus took the wraps off the new 2012 Exige S at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Shows, the crowds were more than pleased and so everybody is expecting the market launch of the vehicle.
But what about US customers, will they be able to get behind the wheel of the supercharged V6 delicacy? Well, Lotus hasn’t said anything about the vehicle’s US availability, so we’ve been in the dark ever since.
However, it seems that the new Exige will be brought stateside, but only in a track-exclusive form, as duPont Registry writes. We’re taking this with a grain of salt, as the report doesn’t bring any reason for such a decision. If this turns out to be true, the Exige will borrow certain tech goodies from its R-GT rally version.
The American version of the Exige S is expected to come with a price of around $85,000 - $90,000.
