2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package Official Details

One of the most exclusive super sports cars available on the market today got even more exclusive with the announcement of the Nurburgring Package for Lexus' LFA. Previewed by rumor ever since March this year, the package was officially introduced yesterday by the Japanese carmaker.

According to the producer, only 50 units will be fitted with this package, out of the 500 units of the LFA to be built. The package provides both performance and visual enhancements.

The 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package is powered by the same 4.8l V10 engine found on all LFAs, with the difference being it has a higher output: 562 horsepower, compared to the 552 horsepower developed by the regular version.

For the special edition, the gear-shift time has been reduced by 0.05 seconds, reaching 0.15 seconds. A sport-tuned suspension, exclusive black mesh-type wheels and dedicated high-grip tires, as well as a larger front spoiler and fixed rear wing add to the increased performance.

On the outside, the LFA Nurburgring Package comes in four exterior colors – whitest white, orange, black and matte black. The interior can be
ordered in black, red, and violet.

“This Nürburgring Package builds on the track-ready Lexus supercar with styling cues from the 24 Hours of Nürburgring prototype LFA racecar,” Mark Templin, Lexus Division group vice president said in a statement

"Driving enthusiasts will also appreciate the Nürburgring Package’s performance enhancements that were proven on the legendary German track.”

The 2012 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package costs $70,000, with the matte black color adding an extra $20,000. That's on top of the $375,000 Lexus is charging for the car itself.
