2012 Lancia Grand Voyager Revealed

Lancia has released one photo and some official details for its newest model MPV which will go on display at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next month. The new Grand Voyager is the product of the joining between Lancia and Chrysler and should arrive on the European market early next year. “A true icon of the MPV category with 27 years on the road and thirteen million units sold in 120 countries around the world, the American model "marries" Italian style, metamorphosing into an exclusive top-range MPV in which Chrysler's journey expertise joins forces with that of Lancia in driving pleasure, the art of attention to detail and Italian design,” stated the official press release. As you might have guessed, all that is a fancy way of saying this is a re-badging job. But Grand Voyager does fill the gap in the market left by the Lancia Phedra. When it arrives sometime next year, the vehicle will be offered in three trim levels, namely Silver, Gold and Platinum, and will be powered by a choice between two engine versions. The most powerful one will come with the Euro 5-compliant 283 hp 3.6-liter petrol, while the lively 163 2.8-liter diesel will be the more frugal option. The exterior of the car will boast a redesigned front end featuring the grille emblazoned with the Lancia logo, wraparound front and rear fascias, light clusters with LED lights, large headlights with built-in fog lights in the front bumper. More details, including a full pricing list and a complete image gallery, are expected around the Geneva launch. autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
