2012 Hyundai i-oniq Concept Teaser Released

Did you think that you could go through the day without seeing one of these strange concept teasers where they only show some swoopy lines and you have to guess the rest? Think again! Hyundai has announced that something called the i-oniq will be shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, taking place in March.

Designed by the automaker's Research and Development centre in Russelsheim, Germany, this is supposed to speak a new dialect of the 'fluidic sculpture' language, giving us a hint at future production models. "Two strong arched curves define the silhouette of i-oniq, creating a playful contrast between the sharp character lines and soft but muscular features," says Thomas Burkle, Hyundai's European Chief Designer.

The car could either be some sort of new coupe design they have in mind based on longer platform. That remains to be seen, but the fact that it has ‘ion’ in its name could mean it's an EV or fuel-cell car, since both use an ion-conducting material or substance called an electrolyte.
