2012 Hyundai Genesis to Debut at Chicago Auto Show

With all eyes set on the upcoming Geneva Motor Show that will open its doors to the press at the end of this month, most carmakers rolled out teasers and videos supposed to give us a hint into what their future models will look like. Hyundai on the other hand has prepared some goodies for the US market, so the Chicago Auto Show seems just the proper moment to introduce the new car to the world.

The 2012 Hyundai Genesis, the facelift of the company's popular sedan, will thus be on display at the Chicago venue and Hyundai's U.S. chief John Krafcik says visiting the company's booth will be really worth your time. The new Genesis will be powered by a new 5.0-liter engine that replaces the old 4.6-liter, thus helping the V8 develop a maximum power of no less than 429 hp, according to The Detroit News.

MotorAuthority also writes that the 3.8-liter V6 engine offered on the current generation Genesis and outputting 305 horsepower is likely to remain in the offering.

Hyundai will begin production of the facelifted sedan soon after the car's public debut at the Chicago Auto Show, with deliveries expected to begin in March this year. Pricing will go in between $45,000 and $50,000, but the full list of specifications will arrive in a day or two.
