2012 Husqvarna Nuda 900R In Action

A couple of days ago we gave you the first images showing the new Husqvarna streetbike, a very much anticipated model that seems to have all it takes to turn some heads. Now, the BMW-owned brand decided to give us the first official video of the Nuda 900R, where we get to see this bold Husky trying to prove its point.

And what might that point me, you may ask yourselves? Well, as you’re about to see in the video below this article, the Nuda 900R flexes all its streetfighter-meets-supermoto muscles to do burnouts, wheelies and tackling corners, while a funky music plays.

However, the most curious of you are to get an idea on the bike’s handling and performances at this year’s EICMA show in Milan (November), where the manufacturer is likely to make it available for test rides.

Meanwhile, keep in mind that we are dealing with a modified BMW 900cc parallel twin-cylinder engine developing around 100 horsepower at a dry weight of below 175 kg (385 lbs). Brembo brakes, front Sachs suspension and rear Ohlins shock, are also among the highlights, which are also likely to include a standard carbon exhaust. Sounds promising, doesn’t it?

Add that to the fact that it has multiple applications - being usable in road touring, urban, and off-road rides - we might have to deal with some serious competition for Aprilia and Ducati.

Well, while it might not be the best looking two-wheeled machine of its kind, the Nuda 900R is a breath of fresh air from the manufacturer that has so far accustomed us with just motocross, enduro and supermoto models.
