Yesterday, we Honda made an official announcement that the market launch of the fourth-generation CR-V will see a market launch in Japan on December 2nd, at the end of this week. We now have a full photo gallery of the recently revealed JDM version of the crossover that will bow tomorrow at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
Don’t be quick to close this article thinking that you’ve seen the all-new CR-V at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, because this is a completely fresh look. The edges of the grille that cut into the lights and look like they are holding the chrome slits have been blacked out and the lower part of the front bumper is completely change. It looks more like the old generation version with a car-like lip, and we’re pretty sure this is what the European version will look like as well.

In Japan, the 2012 CR-V will be offered as either the 20G or 24G model. The base 20G comes with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 150 horsepower and mated to a CVT. This unit is rated at 14.4 km/l on the Japan's JC08 cycle, which is equivalent to 33.9 mpg or 6.9l/100km.

Meanwhile, the 24G is the full meat and potatoes with its 190 horsepower 2.4-liter engine that can only be specified with AWD in Japan. This returns 11,6 km/l on the same Japanese cycle, which is 27,3 mpg or 8.6 l/100 km.

The CR-V is priced at JPY2,480,000 for the base 20G and JPY2,750,000 for the 24G.
