The new Civic is obviously the most important car right now for Honda’s European division. Before your car ever rolls off the production like in Swindon (Great Britain) that marketing wheels will be set in motion, endlessly highlighting the features of the new car.
We’ve already told you all about the car, and showed you some static shots from the Frankfurt Auto Show yesterday, but now it’s time to see how the car takes on the average B-road in Europe. Forget about the Golf, this looks at least as aggressive and fun to drive as the new Ford Focus, one of its biggest rivals.
To take it on, the Civic will have to make use of one out of its three available engines: a 1.4-liter 100 hp gasoline unit, a bigger 1.8-liter with 142 hp or the 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 150 hp. They might sound a bit dated in configuration, but economy is very impressive, with the diesel averaging just 4.2 l/100km with 110 grams of CO2/km being emitted.
