Fiat has released a fresh batch of photos and a B-roll video of the new Punto, just so people would notice the refreshed hatchback that’s been launched onto the European market. The car that was first shown at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show last year is by no means a dramatic improvement in terms of looks. If you ask us, the Punto has been styled to look like the child of the smaller 500 and the bigger Bravo.
On a more serious note, the 2012 model comes with body-colored bumpers, new indicators that have been repositioned beside grille, new alloy wheels and three new body colors, namely Glam Rock Blue, Tip Tap Red and Blues Grey.
The biggest technical change is the introduction of Fiat’s award-winning TwinAir engine, which uses a turbocharged two-cylinder layout to produce 85 horsepower. As for the existing 1.3 MultiJet 2 diesel, this has been fitted with Intelligent Alternator and Intelligent Flow tech to deliver a lower CO2 output of 90 g/km.
