Since the Fiat 500 didn’t register the sales boom it was expected to in the the US, the little car needs any help it can get to conquer America.
Unfortunately, the fact that Jennifer Lopez keeps dancing around the 500 and driving it in front of the camera doesn’t seem to help to much. However, we have a piece of news that could give wings to the vehicle: it has just earned the IIHS Top Safety pick award.
The vehicle behaved well in front, side and rear impact tests and was also rewarded for offering ESP as standard. However, the rating is only for the 500s built after July 2011, as the driver’s seat was modified in order to upgrade safety for both frontal and rear impacts.
