A couple of brand new Chevrolet concept have just been unveiled in Detroit by the American automaker, promising affordable coupe-ish transportation for the masses. Both are pretty enigmatic but should prove interesting if they go intro production.
The red car is called the Code 130R and borrows design cues from the Camaro. It’s powered by a front-mounted 1.4-liter Turbo Ecotec engine featuring GM's eAssist micro-hybrid technology and sends its power to the rear.
Meanwhile, the Tru 140S is a sports coupe power by a 1.4-liter Turbo Ecotec engine featuring eAssist with front-wheel drive. The big news is that both of the exciting-looking cars could come with 150 and a price tag "in the low $20,000s".
“Chevrolet has always stood for making the aspirational attainable for all generations” said General Motors North America President Mark Reuss. “These two concepts interpret that vision for a new generation. We’re seeking out our newest customers’ opinions, listening to their advice, and engaging them in new ways.”
“Young customers tell us they want functionality with coupe-like aesthetics. Both the Code and Tru body styles resonated with this audience,” said Frank Saucedo, director of the GM North America Advanced Design studio in Los Angeles.
