When buying a used car, one should always remember the Golden Rule: There Is No Santa Claus! In other words, if you find a killer deal, there’s usually a good reason behind the price cut. Well, one seller in Canada appears to have one solid answer for his good offer.
According to the man’s... honesty, he’s is offering an Audi S5 for a “throwaway price” because he is going to jail. The guy is called Frank and this is precisely what he claims in the title of his Craigslist ad.
Frank’s car is a 2012 Audi S5 and while his deadline has expired (the ad was posted 45 days ago and required immediate purchase), the ad is still mighty odd. Pre-facelift S5s like the one Frank offers usually trade for around CAD40k, while his was put on sale for CAD35,000.
Moreover, the ad states the coupe has every possible option and hasn’t been involved in any accident - this means that its normal price could’ve probably climbed well above the CAD40,000 average. By the way, this is a black on black S5 with a manual, but no photos were provided - the pic above does not show Frank’s car!
We’re not sure about Frank’s time behind bars, but the man was pretty serious in the ad: “Need this car gone by TUESDAY no low ballers price is already throwaway thank you.”
Mind you, we wouldn’t exactly take the bait, even if the timing was right. Perhaps the S5 is clean or maybe it didn’t exactly belong to him, who knows?
