2012 Audi A6 Configurator Comes Online in the US

Audi has put the plug into the wall socket and has jump-started the online configurator for the all-new A6 for the US market. As you might already know, the saloon was shown last November, but Audi of America took its sweet time and only revealed the starting price for it this month.

The online configurator was launched just in time, as the new A6 arrives at dealerships in just a few days in the four-door form.

Back to the configurator, nothing revolutionary or new can be found out about the car, and it’s even showing images of the European version with slightly different styling. The car starts at $41,700 (excluding a $875 destination charge), but for the money you only get a 211 horsepower, 2.0 TSFI in Premium trim with a CVT and front-wheel drive.

Go for the bigger 310 horsepower 3.0 TSFI in Prestige trim, with the eight-speed automatic and quattro, and your wallet will be lighter by $56,780, but you could be looking at as much as $73,000 if you are into ticking all the boxes.

For instance, the mightily impressive Bang & Olufsen Advanced sound system will cost you an arm and a leg ($5,900), while Audi will ask for the equivalent of your first born in exchange for the 20" sport wheel package ($2,300) and the Innovation Package ($5,800).

Unfortunately, there is no “Avant” in the A6 website, so you can’t spec your the boot carpet to match the coat of your big dog. Another thing that’s missing is the “S” version of the car that is expected to be unveiled later this year, sporting a V8 engine developed in partnership with Bentley.
