It’s not just Mercedes who had a DMT car debuting in Frankfurt this year, as Audi has also taken the wraps off the new competitor for 2012. We’re talking about a car that’s based on the recently unveiled facelifted version of the A5. This will replace the aging A4 DTM competitor, bringing a number of innovations.
The 2012 Audi A5 DTM makes use of a racing V8 capable of pushing out 455 horsepower. That chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque, while the roll cage is made of high-strength steel.
