2011 Volkswagen Phaeton UK Pricing Released

While the new Passat is having its world premiere these days in Paris, the British division of Volkswagen announced the new Phaeton is available for order at nationwide dealerships starting today. The company has also released pricing and specifications for the luxury saloon, which comes in with two wheelbases as well as two rear seating versions.

Getting straight to the point, prices for the 2011 Phaeton start at GBP46,195 (53,250 Euros) for the 3.0-litre V6 TDI 240 PS engine (standard wheelbase), while the 6.0-litre W12 450 PS model costs GBP78,685 (90,700 Euros) RRP on the road. The long wheelbase version of the 3.0-litre V6 TDI starts at GBP 48,640.

The car’s front end mirrors the design of the new Passat. It comprises bi-xenon headlight units with LED running lights which frame a more imposing front grille above a redesigned front bumper with integrated LED fog lights. Newly designed rear light units sit above a revised bumper, while new alloy wheel designs complete the exterior changes.

Inside the cabin, new trim finishes are complemented by a new multifunction steering wheel design and full colour display within the instrument cluster. The RNS 810 satellite navigation system is fitted as standard which, for the first in a Volkswagen, can be chosen with optional Google Maps.

Other entertainment options include the powerful 1,000-watt Dynaudio soundpack, which includes a 12 channel digital amplifier and 12 speakers.

Safety wise, standard equipment on the new Phaeton includes 4MOTION four-wheel drive, eight airbags and laminated glass. Other highlights include Continuous Damping Control (CDC) adjustable air suspension, leather upholstery, 18-way adjustable electric seats and reportedly one of the most advanced air conditioning systems in the world.
