Joining the standard Street Triple in Triumph’s 2011 line-up is the model's R version, a sportier middleweight streetfighter that adds fully-adjustable supersport specification suspension and premium graphics and colour schemes to the regular variant.

The 2011 Street Triple R also features 41mm inverted front forks which are adjustable for preload, rebound and compression damping, allowing the rider to set the motorcycle up according to specific needs.

The rear monoshock is also adjustable for preload and rebound damping, while the twin 308mm floating front discs are mated to powerful four-piston Nissin radial calipers for extreme stopping power. The bike comes with a wet weight of just 189kg (417lbs) and, just like the standard model, a 675cc engine capable of developing 105 horsepower.

Other key features includes lightweight five-spoke alloy wheels from the Daytona 675, fat alloy Magura handlebars, a stylish two-tone seat unit and a comprehensive instrumentation includes a built in lap timer, programmable gear change lights, clock and gear indicator, as well as a large tachometer and digital speedo.

Styling wise, the bike benefits from classic Triumph streetfighter twin headlights and twin high level silencers. The new Street Triple R is available in three colour options (Matt Graphite, Intense Orange or Phantom Black with gold wheels).

Available accessories include color matched flyscreens, belly pans and seat cowls, while Arrow Special Parts have developed both a three-into-one ‘low boy’ exhaust system and lightweight slip-on silencers for improved performance and a weight reduction. These are accompanied by CNC machined clutch and brake levers and a ‘plug and play’ quickshifter that can be fitted to the Street Triple R in minutes.

“Following on from the phenomenally successful Street Triple, the Street Triple R provides a harder-edged and sportier middleweight streetfighter that has been critically acclaimed around the world,”
a company statement reads.
