2011 Toyota Sienna Details and Photos

The third generation Toyota Sienna has been unveiled by the Japanese manufacturer at the Los Angeles Auto Show, amid the perhaps most troubled times for Toyota in its entire existence. The new people mover is, according to its maker, the direct result of consultation with "thousands of minivan owners and potential owners" and one of the big hopes for the brand's revival.

The minivan will come onto the market in five grades: Sienna grade, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. There will be two DOHC engines available, both paired with a 6-speed ECT-i automatic transmission, namely a 3.5l V6 (266 horsepower at 6,200 rpm, EPA rating 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway) and a 2.7l four-cylinder (187 horsepower at 5,800 rpm, EPA rating 19 mpg city/26 mpg highway). There will also be an all-wheel drive offered, but only on grades LE, XLE and Limited equipped with the V6 engine.

The Sienna and LE will be equipped with cruise control, tri-zone air conditioning, six- or eight-way-adjustable driver’s captain’s chair, power windows, remote keyless entry, ABS, EBD, VSC and traction control. For the V6-engined LE, Toyota will add electrochromatic rearview mirror with Homelink, backup camera, XM satellite radio, and steering wheel audio controls (these features are available as a package for the four-cylinder version).

The XLE trim adds to the aforementioned features leather-trimmed seats, moonroof, and an anti-theft system with engine immobilizer, as well as voice-activated DVD Navigation and Panorama rear camera and XM NavTraffic.

The upper level Limited completes the line with Lounge Seating, front and rear parking sonar, dual moonroof, Smart Key, and Safety Connect, as well as HID auto high-beam auto-high beam headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

The car will be released onto the market in February 2010, with pricing information to be released closer to the respective date.
