2011 Suzuki Motorcycles New UK Prices Announced

Following the VAT increase to 20%, the British division of Suzuki has made some adjustments in terms of pricing for 2011. Five models have been affected by the price increase, namely the Gladius SFV650, the GSX1250FA, the GSX1250FA Sports Touring, the GSX-R1000 and the Hayabusa.

Taken separately, the price of the Gladius SFV650 is now GBP5,465, which translates into an increase of GBP116 as compared to its 2010 price of GBP5,349.The bike carries the name of the legendary Roman blade, continuing the sword theme launched by Suzuki in 1979 with the Katana.

Mounted on a stylish, Ducati-like frame sits the 4-stroke, 645 cc, DOHC, 90 degree V-twin engine coupled with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox to develop 66 hp at 9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 63 Nm at 7600 rpm while keeping fuel consumption as low as 58 mpg (4 l/100 km).

Next, the GSX1250FA has increased to GBP7,865 by GBP166 from GBP7,699. The GSX1250FA Sports Touring has had a price increase to GBP8,375 which is GBP176 more that the 2010 price of GBP8,199.

Based on the Bandit 1250S model, the model has quickly topped registration figures in the Sports Tourer category.

The GSX-R1000 will now cost GBP10,825 and has gone up by GBP226 from GBP10,599. The sportsbike has a 999cc engine of DOHC, 16-valve, TSCC with increased rpm, developing 160 bhp at 9500 rpm and a maximum torque of 81 lb-ft (110 Nm) at 8000 rpm.

Finally, the Hayabusa has increased to GBP10,935, which means it has gone up by GBP236 from GBP10,699. Hayabusa is Japanese for Peregrine Falcon, the fastest of any bird. The bike has a 1,340 cc four stroke, inline-four, 16 valve engine producing 197 hp at 10,100 rpm and 102 lb-ft (138 Nm) of torque at 7,600 rpm.
