Called the Advanced Tourer Concept, it actually follows from where the 2009 Hybrid Tourer Concept left off, and it’s said to be coming to a showroom near you in production form starting 2013.

The concept is powered by a boxer engine displacing just 1.6-liters and matched to Subaru’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) technology. The old concept had a bigger 2.0-liter and electric motors at the back, but the system has been simplified in order to ensure a smaller overall weight.

The concept will also bring the latest EyeSight driver assist system that alerts the occupants of objects they can’t actually see. This is a second generation device, and Subaru say recognition range of the stereo camera has expanded considerably, both in width and depth.
