2011 SAE Board Officer and Director Nominees Announced

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) announced yesterday that its Executive Nominating Committee has named nominees for president and five director positions on its Board of Directors. Officer nominees include 2011 SAE President – Richard Kleine, Vice President, Quality and Business Enterprise, Cummins Inc.

Kleine served as SAE International's Vice President-Commercial Vehicle from 2008-2010. He also is a member of the SAE Commercial Vehicle Executive Council.

Other positions with Cummins included Executive Director of Automotive Customer Engineering, Director of the Automotive Business located in the UK, Director of Automotive Marketing and Product Planning; Chief Engineer of Advanced Concepts; Manager of Application Engineering for Automotive and Industrial products.

Director nominees include:

  • Susan Collet, Senior Principal Engineer, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing of America
  • Klaus Hoehn, Vice President, Advanced Technology and Engineering, Deere & Company
  • Sandra Kay Krug, Director, Corporate Services, Baker College
  • Sun Wing Lui, Vice President, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
  • David Vasquez, Senior Engineer, Honeywell International, Inc.

A formal vote on all nominees will be held in November. If elected, the nominees will begin their terms on the SAE International Board of Directors in January 2011.

The current board includes Vice President-Automotive – Mircea Gradu, Chrysler Group LLC, and directors Bernard J. Challen – Shoreham Services, Wendy Clark – National Renewable Energy Laboratory (U.S. Department of Energy), Victor Mucino – West Virginia University, Robert C. Sump – Nissan Technical Center N. A., Mark P. Zachos – Dearborn Group Technology, Inc.
