2011 Royal Enfield Fury Introduced

Not to be confused with Honda’s chopper bearing the similar designation, Royal Enfield’s Fury flat track-inspired model is back for 2011 reviving a name that was first used by the Indian company from 1959-1963.

Built exclusively for the U.S. market, there have been just 191 units ever produced. Albeit the Fury designation was also later used for a licensed copy of the German-built Zundapp KS175, the new 2011 model is far more similar to the original Fury.

The 2011 Rooyal Enfield Fury is based on the chassis of the fuel-injected Electra model with a 500 cc engine, single cylinder, twin silencers, air cooled, but it has a brand new original seat American-style, wide handles to “Western”-style, a number of devices in a digital form, and boasts a sporty white and orange coloring.

The unit, paired with a 5-speed left foot gear shift transmission, is capable of delivering 27.2 bhp at 5250 rpm of peak power and 41.3 Nm (30.46 lb.ft.) at 4,000 rpm. The bike also comes equipped with twin silencers, which makes it the first Royal Enfield model in 40 years with twin pipes.

It also uses a chrome headlight and a digital instrument, while the Electra’s twin saddle is replaced by a flat track-style fiberglass single seat unit with incorporated tail light.

Motorcycles will be offered to customers in three colors – white, black and now here is this “sport” white-orange. According to representatives of Royal Enfield, the company is thus trying to appeal to younger riders.

The Fury will reportedly retail for about GBP5,800 ($9,050) in the U.K.
