Update: 2011 Renault Megane CC Teasers, Launch Date Revealed

Renault is currently working on the CC flavor of the new Megane and the recent sets of spyshots are here to confirm this to us. And although we do have a glimpse into how the future model will look like, here is a brand new teaser that shows the overall shape of the car due to be released sometime this year. Obviously, there's no word on the technical specifications of the car but, judging by the rumors, the future CC is going to share the the same open top as the current model. Still, expect a reworked rear and front, with the latter to be similar to the one seen on the new generation Megane. The rear side of the car will be reworked in order to comply with the retractable top architecture. As for the engines, the CC range will most likely include the same options as the new Megane. The hatchback is currently offered with five diesels and three gasolines options, but the CC might also come with a Bio-fuel version. Speaking of the regular Megane, the most powerful engine version is the 2.0-liter TCe configuration that releases 180 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 2,250 rpm. This means the car is pushed from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, all the way to a maximum speed of 139.8 mph (225 km/h). Fuel consumption is 23.1 mpg (10.2 L/100Km) city and 38.5 mpg (6.1 L/100Km) highway. The Megane CC will be officially unveiled in Switzerland on March 2, as well as at L’Atelier Renault on the Champs Elysées in Paris, France, on March 5.
