Renault has released images of its 2011 Laguna saloon and Estate facelifts that feature cosmetic improvements, equipment level upgrades and Euro 5 compliant engines. We first saw a glimpse of the new models at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and we were impressed with the French design.

The newly redesigned front fascia with new headlamps, new grill and and a bit of chrome here and there, is meant to bring the model in line with the rest of the range. The grill looks a lot more up-market, while the bumper adds a sportier feel.

The 2011 versions of the Laguna also gets cleaner engines, chief among them being the 1.5-liter diesel engine, that produces 110 hp and only emits 120 grams per kilometer of CO2. What’s even more amazing is the 60 mpg (3.9 l/100km) of diesel this engine achieves.

The 4Control four-wheel steering system, first seen on the Laguna GT, is now available on the dCi 130 hp and 150 hp engines. The Laguna is offered in three core trim levels, Expression, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom.

The Expression trim level is in no way spartan, including Arkamys 3D Sound single CD/radio MP3 with Bluetooth and fingertip control, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and front fog lights as standard.

Apart from the actual navigation system, the second trim level adds automatic parking brake, cruise control, chrome twin exhausts (excluding dCi 110), dual zone climate control, electrically heated and folding door mirrors, hands-free keycard, rear parking sensors, multi-functional TunePoint for MP3 players and speed limiter.

The range topping GT level offers bigger 18 inch wheels, a BOSE sound system, pearl black electric folding door mirrors with memory, and leather and Alcantara upholstery with electrically adjustable heated front seats.
