2011 Peugeot Citystar 125 Scooter Introduced

French manufacturer Peugeot has recently added a new mid-range GT scooter to its line-up, which comes to challenge the Piaggio X7 125, Yamaha Majesty 125, Kymco Dink 125 or the Sym Joyride 125. Dubbed Citystar 125, the new Peugeot scooter comes to replace the Elystar 125 model.

According to its manufacturer, it will join the Tweet, LXR, Geopolis, Vivacity, Satelis and Sum-Up in Peugeot’s scooter range.

Capable of transporting two people, the new Citystar 125 features a 35-liter underseat storage compartment that an accommodate a full face helmet plus a demi-jet. Power comes form a four-valve liquid-cooled unit, capable of delivering 13.5 hp power and 12 Nm (8.85 lb.ft.) of torque, which propels it to a top speed of 105 km/h (65 mph).

Peugeot has managed to achieve significant reductions in consumption that now reach 3.5 l/100 km (67 mpg), with a tank of 9.5 liters (2.5 gallons), bring the range to almost 260 km (162 miles). In addition to that, the CityStar 125 follows the standards Euro 3 emitting only 73 grams of CO2/km.

The 2011 Citystar 125 will become available in spring 2011, and will wear a price tag of around EUR3,000 ($4,100 at the current exchange rate). It will come available in four color schemes, namely silver, blue, black and vanilla.
