After treating us with a first image of its upcoming race bike yesterday, Kawasaki today continues teasing us by launching several action photos of the new 2011 Ninja ZX-10R. The company’s R&D department took the newly development machine at the Suzuka race track in Japan to conduct a number of initial tests.

Since it is a two-day testing session, the 2011 machine will again be pushed to the limits tomorrow, and Kawasaki’s job is to gather any useful information in order to carry on with the setup development.

Today, the one who had the honor of getting on the race bike’s saddle first was test rider Hidemichi Takahashi. His job will be continued tomorrow by another professional racer, namely Akira Yanagawa.

According to the Japanese manufacturer, more tests are to follow in the following months. The bike manufacturer expects to have the new Ninja ZX-10R ready to compete in the 2011 World Superbike Championship.

As said, the racer will serve as a basis for the 2011 road bike. As far as we can tell, the new model will come with a complete makeover compared to its predecessor, including a restyled fairing and exhaust. This also means the street version will come with an all-new engine and chassis and a rumored power of around 190 bhp (the racer gets some extra 10 bhp).

The bike is expected to make us forget about the disappointment we had when Kawasaki unveiled last year’s model that came with no significant improvements. It now aims at becoming a serious competitor for the Yamaha R1, Honda Fireblade or the Suzuki GSX-R1000 machines.
