After displaying it at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in November 2010, Scion had also brought the one-off rally version of its xD hatchback to the 2011 NAIAS event in Detroit these days. Dubbed the Tarmac xD, this customized variant was born from a partnership between Scion and the 0-60 Magazine.

The customized scion Tarmac xD features a number of upgrades that include lighter Lexan windows, a carbon hood, carbon rear hatch and PIAA lights. Other features include an aerodynamic front fender and rear bumper, front lip spoilers by Five Axis Models, an APR Performance wing.

Performance wise, the vehicle received custom headers, a GReddy performance exhaust, and a limited-slip differential.

The racing-spec interior complete with custom carbon elements, Pro ADV and S2000 racing seats with racing harnesses and a roll cage, complements the exterior look. There is also a rally steering wheel with quick release hub.

Performance Friction Brakes, Performance Racing Brake Pads, Disc Brakes Australia (DBA), and high performance Direct Replacement Slotted Rotors provide the stopping power.

Electronics include a Defi Sport Cluster Gauge, GReddy gauges, Terratrip rally computer, as well as GoPro HD cameras.

The car rides on Rays Engineering Volk Racing TE-3718 x 7.5 front and rear wheels shoed with BFGoodrich 225/40/18 R1 Tarmac tires. The body paint has been applied by Balistek Autobody and graphics by S and D designs.
