2011 NAIAS Poster Competition Is On

The organizers of one of the biggest motor shows in the US, the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced today the start of the competition for the poster which will adorn the event. It is the 23rd time this contests is being held.

The first auto show of 2011 will get its poster, as usual, after a jury selects the entries submitted by Michigan residents enrolled in grades 10 through 12. For the next show, the winners will be selected in 16 categories, with the winning posters to be displayed at the 2011 NAIAS and reproduced in the official NAIAS program.

"It's amazing to see the unique and innovative automotive designs Michigan's young talent provides to the poster contest," said Barron Meade, chairman of the 2011 NAIAS. "This opportunity encourages students to pursue interests in not only the art community, but the automotive industry as well."

The contest is not all about fun and games, but about prizes as well. State Farm Insurance, the presenting sponsor of Automotive Education Day at 2011 event will select a poster and reproduce part of it on the t-shirts which will be handed to the students attending Automotive Education Day. For the 16 winners, the organizers are preparing cash prizes as well.

To be able to have your poster admitted for the contest, you must design it in size 25" x 21", it must be two dimensional and camera ready. All posters must contain the following information: “North American International Auto Show 2011, Detroit, and Cobo Center. “ All posters must be submitted by November 23.
