We finally got a first-hand look at the brand new Chrysler 300, on display at the 2011 North American International Auto Show. It looks like the automaker has delivered on its promise of a luxury flagship sedan with elegant styling.
It won’t be long until the model hits US dealerships and Chrysler has recently announced a competitive pricetag from $27,995 (*including $825 in destination charges) for the base model. Under the bonnet will be the new flex-fuel 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers 292 horsepower or the venerable 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 with Fuel Saver Technology, which delivers a more substantial 363 horsepower and a 0-62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) time of around 6 seconds.
Chrysler promises the new model will be available from the get-go in four trim levels. The base 300 and the 300 Limited will both use the 3.6-liter V6, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission that delivers the power to the rear wheels. The basic model comes with cloth seats, 17-inch aluminum wheels and new LED headlamps and tail-lamps, while Limited trim adds leather upholstery, heated from seats, Uconnect voice command, a rear backup camera, premium audio system and 18-inch chrome wheels.
If you want a bit mode power than the V6 has to offer, go for the 300C’s 5.7-liter Hemi, that is also fitted as standard with a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, LED interior lighting, power folding mirrors and a number of more luxurious interior options. The range-topping 300C AWD offers the same all-wheel drive platform as the Dodge Charger and larger 19-inch wheels wrapped in 235/55-series all-season performance tires.
