Winter holidays are here, and while many of us are waiting to see what Santa has in for us under the Christmas tree, MV Agusta managed to eclipse everything we were hoping for. The Italian manufacturer, known for building one of the most coveted motorcycles out there, has just launched a new Brutale.

Joining the 990R and 1090RR for 2011 is a brand new 921cc version. Coming as an entry-level model, the new Brutale 920 will reportedly sweep some EUR11,999 (US$15,800 at the current exchange rate) from your pockets.

However, while larger capacity variants have a special designation to make them easier to identify, the 920 has been simply dubbed Brutale.

The new 921cc inline-four engine, unique to the entry model, keeps the crank from the 1090RR but with new smaller pistons and corresponding cylinder block. The unit is capable of delivering no less than 127 hp at 10500 rpm, with a claimed 70 ft-lb. of torque at 8100rpm, and comes with two switchable power maps and MV’s eight-stage traction control system as standard.

Another aspect that differentiates the entry-level model from its bigger siblings is the fact that instead of a two-part seat, it boast a one-piece that is also both narrower and lower. Front indicators are separated, while the other Brutales have them integrated in to the mirrors. The MV 920 also has amber instead of clear lenses.

Less experienced riders will also be glad to hear that the new 2011 MV Agusta Brutale 920 comes with Pirelli Angel ST tires, softer damping rates as well as only preload and rebound damping adjustment of the rear shock. As with the larger Brutale models, Brembo supplies the new model’s four-piston calipers.

The new Brutale claims a dry weight of 418.9 lbs (190 kg), and the tank holds 6.07 gallons (23 liters) of fuel. According to the Italian brand, the matte-black finish is unique to the 920, but a white option will be available too.
