With some good few months left before the new generation Mercedes-Benz CLS will be ready to meet the masses, the first official images showing the car have been leaked, got into the hands of eMercedesBenz and from there all hell broke loose.

The new CLS, as you can see, brings little differences compared to the overall design lines of the outgoing generation. Yet, a few cues borrowed from the Shooting Break concept can be spotted on the car, especially at the front.

On the interior, the model will be presenting its demanding customers with four-seats and a center console which runs the entire length of the car.

As for engines, MercedesBenz seems to have gotten to the bottom of it all. According to the available information, the CLS will be offered with new direct-injection 3.5l V6 engine (CLS350 CGI 301 bhp), which will form the backbone of the lineup.

The second petrol engine will be a 4.6l twin-turbo V8 (CLS550 CGI 429 bhp). The diesel offering of the model will include a 3.0l V6 (CLS350 CDI 252 PS) and a four-cylinder unit (204 PS).

Of course, Mercedes' AMG division will not stay away from the new CLS and will be offering a new breed of CLS63 AMG. Powered by a new twin-turbocharged 5.5l V8, the model will be roaming the streets with all its 544 bhp and 590 lb ft of torque. A Performance Pack will also be offered, boosting power to 570 bhp and 663 lb ft of torque.

The new CLS will be shown for the first time at the Paris Auto Show later this year, but the full details about the model are expected much sooner.
