2011 KTM 990 Adventure Pricing Released

Fans of KTM’s Adventure series in North America now have a price tag put on the entire model range for 2011. Getting straight to the point, the 990 Adventure retails for $14,899, while the 990 Adventure R can be purchased for $14,999. Last but not least, the 990 Adventure Dakar Limited Edition (set to go on sale in March) is priced at $15,499.

The KTM 990 Adventure comes in two new colors for 2011, a new engine configuration, with even more torque, better traction and a 8 hp more power, plus minimised weight and extremely light handling.

Numerous features, such as 210 mm suspension travel, ABS as standard, a reworked cockpit complete new instrument panel and the modified, lockable storage compartment, further recommend the KTM 990 Adventure for expeditions.

On the other hand, the 990 Adventure R, comes with a reworked engine with approximately 20% increase in power, a sporty chassis and 265 mm suspension travel. There is also a new cockpit and modified front storage compartment. “Superior in appearance too – the most sport-oriented travel enduro sets new standards in styling and attractiveness with its typical R colour scheme and radical new design,” KTM says.

Finally, the 2011 limited edition Adventure “Dakar” packs “cigarette blue” plastic parts with the Bedouine graphics of KTM’s factory racers cover the orange frame. A high-quality suedelook seat cover looks good and prevents slippage even on extreme tracks.

At the same time, the “Dakar” combines popular features of both the other models – while the Adventure donates the suspension with 210 mm of travel as well as the sensitive Bosch ABS, the engine is that of the Adventure R with 115 bhp.
