Kia has announced details and a full price list for its 2011 Optima sedan. At launch, the new generation of the Optima will be offered with two powerplants, the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with direct injection that has an output of 200hp, and Kia's first-ever turbo engine in the US, a 2.0-liter 274 hp Turbo GDI. {ad]

Early next year, a hybrid will be added to the range. The Kia Optima shares all its engines with the Hyundai Sonata. The 2.4-liter model comes in three trim levels: LX, EX and SX.

The LX with a six-speed manual gearbox has a starting MSRP of $19,690 (including a $690 destination charge). It comes as standard with six-airbags, an MP3 audio system, power windows and locks, dual exhaust with chrome tips, a cooling glove box and auxiliary USB audio input jacks for MP3 players and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

The Optima EX starts at $23,190, offering standard features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, leather trimmed seats, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and push-button start system. If you want to have the more powerful 2.0-liter turbo engine in EX trim, it will set you back $25,190.

Last of all, the top of the range SX comes as standard with the 2.0-liter Turbo that develops 274 hp and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This version has 18-inch alloy wheels, sport-tuned suspension, unique lower body trim, HID head lights, LED tail lights, black leather and woven seat trim, Supervision meter cluster, steering wheel paddle shifters, carbon fiber interior trim, metal pedals, and illuminated door scuff plates.

The 2011 Optima Hybrid will join the roster after its debut this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
