2011 Kawasaki ER-4n Unveiled

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki has recently took the wraps off its 2011 ER-4n, a 400-cc naked sport bike which comes to fill in the demand for ordinary motorcycle license holders. The bike features a compact and highly rigid diamond-shaped steel frame chassis, making it easier to handle and more controllable.

“In response to such market demand, Kawasaki started the sale of the ER-4n, a naked sport-model motorcycle that gives expression to the stylish rider with a unique design that integrates a sharp, urban sensibility with masculine strength,”
a company statement reads.

Powered by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, parallel twin-cylinder DOHC four-valve 399cc engine, the ER-4n delivers powerful at low- and mid-range speeds and responds well at high speeds. In addition to fuel injection, the ER-4n is equipped with sub-throttle valves to optimize intake air, offering excellent throttle response and smooth engine performance at normal speeds.

The short silencer is located under the engine, which combined with its lower fairing results in a greater concentration of mass and lower center of gravity. Equipped with a built-in three-way catalyzer, it offers superior environmental performance in conformance with the 2007 Japanese national emissions regulations for motorcycles.

The new bike’s front face with twin vertical headlights, and its radiator shroud with built-in turn signals, as well as with the sharp-cut tail cowl give the chassis design a stylish and aggressive look. The LED taillights are compact and provide excellent visibility.

The instrument panel is equipped with both an analog speedometer and a multi-function LCD display. The LCD display includes a digital bar-style tachometer, fuel gauge, clock, and odometer/trip-meter.

Unfortunately, performance details of the bike are still blurry, as is its future availability outside Japan.
