The newest Cat to enter the Jaguar "basket", the XJ, got a new presentation video over the past weekend, showing the sound system fitted on the vehicle. Whereas the car itself is not featured in this video, another let's call it key aspect is: the sound system.
The new presentation clip explains (or should we says praises), as we told you above, the Bowers&Wilkins sound system, or, as Matt Jones, Jaguar's technical specialist for audio systems says, "an audio system with no compromise". Unfortunately, besides how great, how stunning and how unique the system is, no real details about the system (such as power, the number of speakers) are being disclosed.
Not much left though until full details of the new Jaguar XJ will be made available. As we told you, the XJ (or the "Icon Reimagined" as Jaguar dubbed it) will be unleashed on July 9th, with further leaks to be expected before that.
A little about the XJ's engines is though known. It will be powered by engines including a 3.0l V6 and most likely a new 5.0l V8, the latter developing around 510 horsepower. According to some sources, the range of engines will also include a hybrid powerplant.
The hybrid engine is said to have an electric range of 30 miles (48 km), a fuel consumption rating of 57 miles per gallon (5l/100 km) and CO2 emissions rated at 120g/km. It may be introduced later that its regular powered counterparts.
The XJ will come in a choice of either standard or long wheelbase versions. Jaguar claims it will "introduce the highest standards of personal luxury and specification, including a panoramic glass roof."
As for the visual impact, the new cat will be a shock to the more conservative Jaguar customers.
