2011 Ford C-MAX to Debut at Frankfurt

The first official photos of the Ford’s European minivan have just been released, along with the company’s statement that the new generation C-MAX will debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, instead of the 2010 Paris Motor Show as we've initially expected.

Just as we said when we presented you with the some spyshots of the model, the 2011 Ford C-MAX’s design features are borrowed from the Iosis MAX concept car unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car, however, has some new styling elements to distinguish it from the other models on the compact multi-activity vehicle (MAV) market.

According to Ford, the new generation C-MAX “features a coupé-like, sweeping roofline while still retaining the established Ford C-MAX hallmarks of comfort, space, and practicality.”

Just as it was expected, the new Ford C-MAX comes with several new technologies for the Ford range, including an 1.6-liter Ford EcoBoost direct injection petrol engine we've seen on the Iosis Max concept. Furthermore, other advanced safety features will also be included, such as semi-automatic parallel parking and a blind-spot detection system.

The company announced the car will be launched in the second half of 2010, but further details about the new Ford C-MAX will be released at Ford’s Frankfurt press conference on 15 September. The 2009 IAA show opens to the public between September 17-27, 2009.

autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
