2011 Ducati Diavel Pricing Announced

The recently revealed Diavel, which has had its world public unveiling at the EICMA show in Milan in early November, has already entered production at the company’s Bologna facility, ready to face worthy rivals such as the Suzuki B-King or the Yamaha VMAX.

Ducati's new power cruiser will flex all of its muscles to show customers why they should pay to own such an interesting mix of design and performance.

Coming as blend between a naked street bike (as it is light and agile), a cruiser (imposing and comfortable) and a sports bike (powerful, offering a high level of performance), the Diavel will go on sale in early 2011.

The Diavel is powered by a 1198cc L-Twin cylinder, four-valve per cylinder, liquid cooled Testastretta 11° motor, which produces a maximum of 162 bhp of power and 94 lb-ft (128 Nm) of torque. The engine is derived from the race engines bred from the Ducati race shop.

Ducati has used four-piston, twin radially-mounted calipers that grab a pair of 320mm discs at the front, while a single 265mm disc on the rear is gripped by a two piston caliper by industry leader Brembo. The braking system of the new musclebike is equipped with the latest, most compact, Ducati Bosch-Brembo ABS system as standard.

The suspension uses a fully adjustable 50 mm Marzocchi front fork and a horizontally-mounted fully adjustable Sachs rear shock.

The new Diavel, cost GBP12,995/EUR16,800/US$16,995 for the base model, while the higher-spec Carbon model with Marchesini wheels will be GBP£15,495/EUR19,900/US$19,990, or GBP15,895/EUR21,100/US$21,290 for the Carbon Red with it's more detailed paint scheme.
