2011 Dodge Charger Gets... Dual Heated&Cooled Cup Holder

Thank God for that! Imagine buying yourself a brand new Dodge Charger, cruising about on your city's busy streets and having no hot coffee around to sip from as you try to impress the crowds...

Luckily, American supplier Amerigon came up to a solution to this problem: enter the heated and cooled dual cup holder. Probably the most useless gadget invented this year (from our view, at least), this revolutionary, game changing cup holder will be fitted onto a Chrysler vehicle for the first time.

Another interesting aspect of the cup holder, perhaps even cooler (or hotter) than the temperature attributes mentioned above is the fact that it can maintain different degrees of heat for the drinks of the driver and passenger. Meaning that one of you can drink hot coffee, while the other is enjoying an ice tea, at the same time.

“The 2011 Dodge is the first vehicle to offer our cup holder, another natural application of our thermoelectric technology. We believe the thermoelectric technologies we are developing at Amerigon have a great number of unique commercial applications that will be successful in the marketplace," said Daniel R. Coker, Amerigon CEO

Unfortunately for Amerigon, we're pretty sure their gadget won't do much to change our perception of the Charger. Sorry to say (for Amerigon), this bling-bling toy means nothing compared to words and numbers which combined spell 3.6l Pentastar V6 and a 5.7l Hemi V8. Who cares if you have hot coffee or ice tea at your disposal when in between 292 and 370 horses are fighting to break out from under the hood?
