It shows, in less than two minutes, how they build the Volt. Better said, it demonstrates the way the Volt is put together at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant and is prepared to hit the streets.
Not much can be said about the video, but General Motors really struggles to keep the Volt in the spotlights these days. The "first ever", as GM likes to say, extended range electric vehicle is already in production, with the first model, painted in Viridian Joule with a Light Neutral interior with dark accents, to be auctioned. All proceeds will be donated to the Detroit Public Schools.
“Every aspect of the Volt – from its aerodynamic shape to its battery chemistry – is a testament to the importance of math and sciences,” said GM North America president Mark Reuss. “By encouraging Detroit-area students to pursue these topics, we hope to cultivate the next generation of engineers who will build upon the Volt’s innovative technologies.”
That being said, we'll let you watch the video and decide for yourself whether the Volt deserves so much praises from its parent company. Oh, and by the way, we love the soundtrack...
