2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Sold for $205,000

As announced ever since last week, American manufacturer GM auctioned the second 2011 Camaro Convertible produced for consumer sale at the Barrett-Jackson Car Collector Auction last Friday and, according to the numbers available, the car was sold for $205,000.

Quite a steep price to be paid, some might say, for a car which didn't even made its presence felt at the auction. Instead of the actual 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, which is still being kept under tight wraps in preparation for the official unveiling, GM brought to Las Vegas the Camaro Convertible Concept.

Even so, the car is expected to be a hit for pony and muscle lovers. The model sold last Friday will be, as said, the second Camaro Convertible produced for consumer sale, with the first one to get used by GM for “historical purposes.”

The money payed for the model will go to the YMCA of Southern Nevada, an organization which aims to “promote healthy living and foster a sense of social responsibility.”

The auction was, in itself, a feast for Camaro fans, with several other exciting models being on the block. A 650 hp 2010 UFC Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe was sold for $350,000, with the money to benefit the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

"Thank you to all the bidders on the UFC Camaro!! It went for $350k!!! That money goes to the troops. So amazing!!! I LOVE UFC fans,"
said an enthusiastic UFC president Dana White.

The 2010 UFC Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe comes with custom exhaust, lowering suspension kit, 2000-watt sound system, custom paint and UFC fight glove seats with suede headliner.
