American manufacturer GM decided to set up a very comprehensive strategy for the unveiling of the new Cadillac CTS Coupe, with at least 300 dealerships to host special ceremonies across the US starting today and for the next week.
“The CTS Coupe is one of the most significant automobiles to enter the market this year,” said Kurt McNeil, vice president of Cadillac sales and service.
“It represents the new focal point for Cadillac in terms of design and performance. Cadillac and its dealers want to make sure customers are given a chance to get an up-close look at this stunning new vehicle.”
The details of the new model are already known, as they have been announced ever since November last year. The car is powered by a direct injected 3.6l V6 unit that develops 304 horsepower, paired to a six-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption rating is estimated at 27 mpg (8.7 l/100km) highway.
The CTS will be offered with two packages, Performance and Summer Tire Performance. The vehicle comes equipped with 14-Way adjustable Recaro sport seats, pop-up navigation system, integrated iPod/MP3 capability, Bluetooth capability, rear camera system and adaptive forward lighting system.
The CTS Coupe is priced at $38,990. A more powerful version, dubbed CTS-V Coupe, will also be offered. This model will be available with a 6.2l supercharged V8 engine that produces 556 horsepower and comes equipped with dual-mode magnetic ride control suspension and Brembo brakes.
“CTS Coupe is the new focal point of Cadillac, expressing both our design and technical capabilities,” Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager said when the vehicle was launched. “It is intended to appeal to a new generation of car enthusiasts.”
