2011 BMW S 1000 RR Gets Two New Colors

BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle unit of the German manufacturer, is currently bringing a series of revisions to its 2011 model lineup, mostly focusing on aesthetic changes. These changes are destined to make the two-wheeled machines more appealing to the consumer, or at least this is what BMW hopes.

As it did last year with the F 650 GS, F 800 GS and F 800 ST models, BMW has now offered new looks to its S 1000 RR superbike. While the racing colors white/red/blue will be continued, the manufacturer has added two new options: Sun yellow and Light grey metallic.

Since the first thing that attracts the customers is the appearance of a motorcycle, other models in the BMW range also received a refreshed paint scheme range:
  • F800 ST: Sapphire black metallic and Light grey metallic/Sapphire black metallic/Granite grey metallic
  • F800 R: Bright yellow metallic/Black satin gloss and Granite grey metallic/Black satin gloss and Alpine white/Lupin blue metallic/Magma red
  • K1300 S: Magma red/Sapphire black metallic and Lupin blue metallic/Alpine white/Sapphire black metallic
  • K1300 R: Acid green metallic/Black satin gloss and Black satin gloss/Granite grey metallic matt

According to the German manufacturer, the grey and deep green colours will most likely disappear from 2011. Technical wise, the performance sheet was left untouched for the moment, with BMW to reveal modifications (if any) at a later date.

This, however, is a bit disappointing to those hoping for a red or blue paint scheme for the superbike dubbed "the lightest supersport with ABS". Some even say the new yellow paint is repugnant... Is it? Let us know what you think!
