2011 BMW Motorrad Days Details Announced

The most anticipated event of the year for BMW motorcycle owners and enthusiasts is to take place on July 1-3 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, when over 30,000 guests will be attending the largest BMW Motorrad meeting in the world.

As expected, the BMW Motorrad team from the World Superbike Championship will be there, joined by the four times world stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer.

“I have a lot of new tricks,” Pfeiffer revealed. “The bounce to crosslegs, for instance, I find pretty cool. In an overhanging wheelie I brake so suddenly that I’m catapulted out of the seat and land crosswise on the rear footrests. And all this while I’m still doing the wheelie! I’m really looking forward to Garmisch, it’s an absolute highlight on my schedule.”

Also, Igor Obu, holder of the world long jump record at 42.11 m, and his team will be showing onlookers the stunts that can be done with a mountainbike.

On an area of 10,000 square meters, the BMW Enduro Park will be offering training units on BMW GS models. On a Husqvarna X-track they can learn how offroad professionals maneuver their Husqvarnas at their extreme limits, and experience at first hand the potential of these vehicles on the terrain.

As in the previous years, nearly all BMW Motorrad models can be booked for extensive test rides. Also, there will be a raffle for two brand new BMW motorcycles: a G 650 GS and a R 1200 R.

In addition, a special exhibition will be presenting the milestones of cladded BMW motorcycles from the historical BMW Classic collection. This will be complemented with the Classic Parade on the Friday, and the major Motorcycle Parade on the Saturday.
