2011 BMW M3 Frozen Gray Coupe Sold Out in 12 Minutes

After opening the hotline created especially for the sale of the 2011 BMW M3 Frozen Gray Coupe, it took the German carmaker only 12 minutes to sell all of the 30 units of the very limited edition. And that feat, keep in mind, was achieved with a model which doesn't have much to offer in terms of performance upgrades.

“We leapt at the chance to bring this truly special vehicle to the United States. The Frozen Gray M3 is a striking work of sculpture, speed, and style, and perfectly marks the 25th birthday of the M3 model," Larry Koch, BMW M brand manager in North America was quoted as saying by automobilesreview.com.

"I’m personally thrilled to see that our customers are as excited about it as we are. We filled the thirty reservation slots within twelve minutes and took the names of at least fifty alternates in the first hour. The 2011 Frozen Gray M3 Coupe will be one of the most unique BMW vehicles ever imported to the US.”

Now, what's so special about this one, apart from the fact that some call it "the most dynamic and exclusive M3 ever " in the US? Well, as said, performance wise, some things have changed, but not much...

The car still packs the same 420 hp 4.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine as the standard M3, paired with the M Double Clutch Transmission. Acceleration time is now 4.5 seconds, down 0.2 seconds from the regular version.

The M3 comes equipped with the Competition Package: suspension lowered by 10 mm, 19-inch multi-spoke alloys with wider offset and Electronic Damping Control. The vehicle also comes in matte-gray paint finish with custom Fox Red / Black bi-color premium leather interior.

The car is priced at $77,600. Now that all 30 models have been booked, BMW can start to build them, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of the month.
