No, BMW won’t offer any power upgrade for the BMW M3. The carmaker’s U.S. division released a teaser of a special edition M3 earlier this week, and now it is offering the official details and photos of the car, which will only come with various aesthetic changes.
The vehicle, which is dubbed M3 Frozen Gray Coupe, has been introduced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the M3. BMW announced that the vehicle, which is destined for the North American market, will have a limited production of 30 (identical) units.
As its name suggests, the car is dressed in a matte-gray paint, with a special deep metallic finish, which has been designed to accentuate the muscular lines of the body.
The interior of the limited edition M3 has received a two tone Fox Red/Black Novillio leather finish.
The vehicle will use the same 418 hp 4.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine as the standard M3, which (for the special edition) can only be mated to the M Double Clutch Transmission, which brings the coupe’s 0-62 mph time down by 0.2s (compared to the six speed manual gearbox) to 4.5 seconds.
The 2011 M3 Frozen Gray Coupe also comes equipped with the Competition Package, which includes a 10 mm lowered suspension, 19 inch rims with wider offset and new programing for the Electronic Damping Control (auto-adjustable suspension) and M Dynamic Mode (electronic stability control).
The car will arrive in BMW showrooms by the end of the month, with a price of $77,600. The vehicle’s production will be completed by the end of July 2010.
