One day before the German manufacturer will present in its full glory the 2011 Audi A7 Sportback, the first photos showing both the car and its interior have leaked onto the web. As already announced the car will break cover at the Pinakothek der Moderne München museum on Monday.

Together with the photos, new info has also been leaked. What is already known is that the new A7 is based on the A7 Sportback concept first shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. It will present, as seen in the photos, the same dramatic lines as the concept.

Manufactured on the longitudinal build kit (LBK) on which the A8 is based, the A7 Sportback is larger in size than the current A6. It will be powered by a 3.0l V6 gasoline engine with 268 horsepower and a 4.2l V8 developing 372 horsepower.

Diesel units are likely to comprise a 3.0l engine capable of 250 horsepower and a 4.2-liter V8 good for 350 horsepower.

The interior of the A7 is pretty much the same as the one seen on the concept version. As you can see, the 2+2 four-door coupe will only be able to transport four passengers.

Audi will aim the A7 straight at the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the BMW Gran Coupe in its series production guise. Some cannibalism with the other Volkswagen asset, Porsche, and its Panamera model, is likely.

The A7 will mark Audi’s entry into the four-door Grand Tourer market. An S version of the model will follow, packing either the carmaker's new supercharged 3.0l V6, or possibly the 4.2l V8.

As said, the new A7 will be unveiled on Monday, so keep an eye out for further details.
